As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass and can experience aches and pains!  We may not have the posture we once had, or the mobility and strength in our bones, muscles and joints that we would like.  Pilates is a great way to build and maintain strength, especially in the core muscles.

Done correctly, it can help to relieve back pain, increase bone density and improve the range of motions throughout the body.  As we age, our balance starts to decline, increasing the risk of falls and injury. Staying active is vital. Pilates, Yoga and specific mobility  classes can help reverse and halt this process.

Pilates is also good for our mental well-being, it can help to relieve anxiety and stress as it requires concentration and promotes mindfulness through a connection between mind and body.  The chance to connect with like-minded people can also be beneficial for some.
