Balance and mobility class - seated and standing.  Fridays 2.15pm. Farnborough Village Hall

As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass and can experience aches and pains!  We may not have the posture we once had, or the mobility and strength in our bones, muscles and joints that we would like.  Pilates is a great way to build and maintain strength, especially in the core muscles.

Done correctly, it can help to relieve back pain, increase bone density and improve the range of motions throughout the body.  As we age, our balance starts to decline, increasing the risk of falls and injury. Staying active is vital. Pilates, Yoga and specific mobility  classes can help reverse and halt this process.

Active Aging

Staying active is a great benefit to our overall wellbeing. It's never too late to start and, as you are assisted to work at the level that's right for your body, classes cater for all. If you're looking for a class that focuses on maintaining balance and your mobility, you're worried about falls or simply finding everyday tasks difficult, then the Friday afternoon class may be what you need. Using motivating music, this is a fun, lighthearted class, where we move, balance and stretch to keep the joints mobile.  A lovely, small and friendly group.  Chairs provided so you can do the whole class sitting if you prefer.

Pilates is also good for our mental well-being, it can help to relieve anxiety and stress as it requires concentration and promotes mindfulness through a connection between mind and body.  The chance to connect with like-minded people can also be beneficial for some.
